THE-Young University Rankings puts UAlg among the best young universities in the world

The University of Algarve appears for the fifth time in the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings, which analyzes the performance of higher education institutions created 50 years or less ago. In this edition 10 Portuguese higher education institutions participate, and of these only 8 are part of this ranking, where UAlg maintains the highlight in the indicator that evaluates the international projection.

THE's list only indicates the exact place of the institutions up to the 200th position, from which they are classified by intervals, without hierarchy.

In this ranking, which is increasingly competitive, UAlg is classified between positions 251 and 300. This is the 11th year of publication of this THE evaluation, which in this edition sees an increase in the number of institutions (539), in comparison with 2021 (475), and of territories, going from 68, last year, to 74, in 2022. Another 251 institutions are still listed with the status of "Reporter", which means that they provided data but did not meet the eligibility criteria to receive a rating.

The 13 indicators assessed are the same used in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings and are organised around five major areas: the quality of teaching and research, the citations of scientific papers produced, their relationship with industry or their international projection.
