Conditions of access

a) Holders of a master's degree or legal equivalent in Archaeology;
b) Exceptionally, holders of a Bachelor's degree or legal equivalent in Archaeology with a relevant scientific curriculum that is recognized as attesting the capacity for the accomplishment of this cycle of studies by the Scientific Council of the FCHS;
c) Exceptionally, holders of a bachelor's and master's degree or legal equivalent in other areas of knowledge, and who have relevant scientific or professional academic training that is recognized as attesting the ability to complete this cycle of studies by  the Scientific Council of the FCHS;
d) Exceptionally, holders of a scientific or professional curriculum that is recognized as attesting the ability for the completion of the doctorate by the Scientific Council of the FCHS.

Criteria for selection of the candidates

1. Merit of the candidate, reflecting the academic degree grades;
2. Personal curriculum, reflecting the scientific and academic career, including field experience;
3. Interview, that should have grade above 14 for admission to the degree..

Necessary documentation

Applications must be formalized using the online registration form (https://www.ualg.pt/pt/content/formulario-candidatura-doutoramentos):
a) Document proving that the candidate meets the conditions for access (admission) to the course, including copies of diplomas or transcripts;
b) Updated curriculum vitae, including a list of published works.
